Spartanburg Moms

A gathering place for moms in Upstate South Carolina

Hello! My daughter is almost 18 months old and I would love to find some other children around her age that she can play with. We live in Lyman. If anyone is interested, please let me know! Thanks :)

Hi Samantha. I have a 19 month old little girl and am hoping to find some friends for her as well. I live in Spartanburg. If your interested in setting up a playdate let me know and we can try to work something out.

Hi Nichole! That would be great. What area of Spartanburg do you live in? We can figure out where we'd like to meet. Are you available during the daytime for a playdate? We look forward to meeting you and your daughter!

Hi ladies! I have been wanting to find some friends for my son in the area as well. He is 13 months old and super active! I would love to get together sometime as well. I live in North Spartanburg near Boiling Springs/Inman. I'm a SAHM so I'm able to get together during the day! Let me know! I look forward to meet other moms and kids soon! Thanks!

Hi Amelia! We'd love to meet you, too! We could find somewhere (maybe a park, depending on weather) in between us to meet. Do you have any suggestions? I just started taking my daughter to the Lap Babies at the Middle Tyger Library. Most of the kids seem either a few years older than her or are babies. I would love for her to be able to play with some kids closer to her age!

Hi ladies,

I am in East Spartanburg. We are available in the day, although mornings are best for me as my 3 year old is in preschool then. If we have any more warm days like this weekend we could meet at a park. I don't know many indoor places in the area off the top of my head. We sometimes go to storytime at the downtown library. Maybe we could do an early lunch somewhere that the kiddos can play?

A park would be great! Austin is just beginning to really enjoy slides and he loves to walk around and explore! I only know of two parks near me- one in Boiling Springs (McMillan is the name I think, or maybe it's on McMillan road??) and the one at lake bowen. I'm not sure about Lyman, but I used to work in Greer so Lyman isn't too far. If you have a park in mind let me know. We go to Bouncing Babies at the Taylors library on thursdays (I've been to the spartanburg library's rockin babies and it's pretty good as well- we go to taylors b/c i have friends in that area as part of a mommy and me group) and Austin loves it!! I'm not sure about Lap babies. The musical mothergoose at headquarters was ok, but I think better for kids who sit still as opposed to energetic toddlers!

Century Park is really nice - it's in Greer. That would probably be a little far for Nichole to drive. Also, Greer City Park is a great park for kids to run and there are pretty fountains. The playground is suited for a little bit older kids. I'm not sure how many nice weather days we'll have left, though! As far as inside, all I can think of is walking in the mall, but my daughter is not so happy about being in a stroller anymore! Amelia, we used to live in Boiling Springs and I'm familiar with that park. I believe that is the park with the tennis courts, right? My husband and I used to play. Well, we will figure something out!

Anyone know if Barnet park downtown has a playground?

I don't think that it does, but I am not 100% on this.

I didn't think so, but I thought I heard someone mention it before. They must have been talking about somewhere else. What do u guys think about Monkey Joes?

I haven't taken her to monkey joes yet, but she is a climber and jumper so I think she would love it. My only concern is how busy it gets with "bigger" kids. I think if we went early enough though it might be smaller children there? I am open to giving it a try.

I haven't been there either. I would also worry about older/bigger kids. We could try to go in the morning, like you said. Maybe while the older kids are in school.
