A gathering place for moms in Upstate South Carolina
So we had our family vacay planned all out and then I got laid off. We have been holding out hope that we were still going to be able to stay in our normal place in St Augustine but its just going to be to expensive. We have now started looking hardcore at possibly going to Isle of Palms (which we also love) or would go anywhere in surrounding area that has a pool that has enough room for the 5 of us. We just can't stay in one hotel room for more than one night. We tried that one year and it was AWFUL!
Anyway, we're looking for a house or condo with a pool and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions? We may want to just go for 3 or 4 nights instead of a week and that's one problem I seem to be running into is that so many rentals are for a week only. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it! Thanks girls!

I'm writing this reply on our last night at Wild Dunes. We had a great time. We have always gone to the MB area (Garden City or Cherry Grove) for our big family beach. We would get a few condos right on the beach for our big extended family. This year we got a 6 bedroom house in wild dunes. It was not on the beach, but it had a pool and came with a golf cart we took to the beach. Was a nice change. I hope we come back next year.
My aunt and uncle were not going to come, but decided to last minute. Could not find a place on IOP for less than $300 a night. I don't know how hard he looked or where. Or if it was just all booked or just that expensive all the time. I'm sure during the week it is less. Anyway, I'm not much help. We loved it here, but it is more expensive than the MB area. If you want an inexpensive beach vacation, I'd look at IOP, but also compare with Myrtle.
