A gathering place for moms in Upstate South Carolina
We just moved to spartanburg from DC and are looking for some daytime activities for my 18 month old son to do with a babysitter or me. Are there any music or story times at local libraries or bookstores? or are there any other fun activities for that age around town?
thank you!
best, jane

Permalink Reply by Casey on April 17, 2012 at 8:43am We moved here from DC almost 2 years ago now... welcome! It is quite a different pace of life down here, but we like it. I have a 12 month old. We go to the Boiling Springs library at 10:30 and the downtown Spartanburg library on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:00 for story times. All of the libraries have story times, some during the day, some at night. The library's website is infodepot.org you can find all of the information there.

Rockin' Babies at the main library is wonderful. It combines music and story time. They have it on Thursdays at 10am and also at 11am.

Hi Jane! Welcome to the area! You may also want to try Kindermusik at Converse College. I know some moms that took this class and loved it. I'm not sure if there is a fee though. I know the libraries don't charge anything. A lot of local churches also offer "Mommy Morning Out Programs."
