Corporal Punishment...what do you think?

What do you think of this issue? A high school in Texas is expanding their corporal punishment policy to allow a member of the opposite sex to dole out the paddlings. Keep in mind that this is a high school, not an elementary school or middle school. Would you allow your high school-age child to receive paddlings at school? I had no idea that schools still allowed corporal punishment. This is not common practice in this area.
